Dominique Williams

I am a nineteen-year-old Kittitian Climate Change Activist, having worked on a variety of projects spanning divestment, environmental policy, climate change education in school and community organisation. My main interest lies in lobbying for climate change policy and blending my passion for writing with climate change education.
Aside from writing climate change articles while nursing cup of hot tea. My activism includes work done as a Member the Saint Kitts and Nevis Youth Parliament Association, a member of the Caribbean Youth Climate Change Council, a Caribbean Climate Justice Project Youth Ambassador and a 2022 Most Remarkable Teen. In my free time I am a hobbyist poet and novelist. I enjoy reading, watching Netflix and cooking in my downtime as well as a brief semi-successful stint in gardening.
GirlsCARE JA
GirlsCARE is a feminist climate activist movement that aims to create a space and empower young women to advocate for gender justice in climate action.
I was fortunate and blessed to be inducted as a mentee in the GirlsCare 2023 cohort. It offered me the incredible opportunity to network with incredible young female activist icons from across the region forming a community of education and support. I also benefited from the transmission of climate justice and feminism knowledge and experience from our accomplished mentors and ten presenters from across the Caribbean and Africa.
If you are a young Caribbean woman, interested in Climate Change advocacy in your island and beyond, follow GirlsCare JA to stay aware of application deadlines for prospective mentees and mentors as well as other opportunities.
